From Boarding to Departure

Step 1. K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)
  • K-ETA eligible nationals, who wish to enter visa-free the Republic of Korea,
    must obtain K-ETA approval before boarding the flight.
  • Assessment can take more than 72 hours depending on the situation,
    so please apply for K-ETA with sufficient time.
  • Valid period of a K-ETA is 3 years from the date of approval
    (or until your passport expires, whichever comes first).
    (If your personal information is changed, a new K-ETA is required even if your K-ETA has not expired.)
  • Nationals aged 17 or under, or 65 or over, are exempt from K-ETA (since July 3, 2023).

Temporary exemption of K-ETA for 22 countries
※ The Ministry of Justice has extended the temporary K-ETA exemption.
Nationals of the 22 countries/regions below are exempt from K-ETA through December 31, 2026 (KST) and may enter Korea with a valid passport only.

Step 2. Q-Code
  • Q-Code is Korea's electronic quarantine/health-declaration system.
    It is required only for travelers arriving from (or transiting through)countries currently designated as quarantine-inspection areas;most travelers do not need it.
  • If applicable, completing your health declaration via Q-Code before arrival speeds up entry. Designated countries change periodically, so please check the latest list on the Q-Code portal.
